The Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) held the Prêmio Brasil Olímpico (PBO) in December at the Cidade das Artes, in Rio de Janeiro, celebrating the most outstanding athletes, coaches, and leaders across Brazil’s Olympic sports. Created in 1999, the PBO is the largest annual celebration of Brazilian Olympic sport, recognizing excellence, competitive results, and impact throughout the season.
The ceremony brought together the country’s top sporting figures to honor awards such as Athlete of the Year, Athlete of the Fans, Coach of the Year, and the Best Athlete in Each Sport, alongside artistic performances and tributes to icons of Brazilian sport.
This year’s edition marked a historic milestone, as lacrosse was represented for the first time in the history of the Prêmio Brasil Olímpico, reflecting the sport’s growing presence within the Brazilian Olympic system.
🏆 Best Lacrosse Athlete of 2025: Titus Andrew Sousa Chapman
The Confederação Brasileira de Lacrosse (CBL) proudly announces that Titus Andrew Sousa Chapman was named Best Lacrosse Athlete of 2025, becoming the first athlete in the history of Brazilian lacrosse to receive a Prêmio Brasil Olímpico from the COB.

At the time, Titus was competing at the PALA Sixes Cup in Puerto Rico, the most important international competition of the 2025 season for Brazilian lacrosse and a central event in the Olympic Sixes pathway for the region.

A Historic Recognition for Lacrosse in Brazil
The Prêmio Brasil Olímpico recognition of Titus comes during a pivotal period for the sport. As the newest confederation officially recognized by the COB, the CBL is still in an early phase of structuring its national teams and competitive calendar. Within this context, the award reflects both individual excellence and the sport’s emergence within Brazil’s Olympic landscape.
Titus Andrew Sousa Chapman’s selection as Best Lacrosse Athlete of 2025 represents:
